First Scrap & Music Reveal!!

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to finally be able to share this layout with you!! It's my very first reveal as part of the Scrap & Music Design Team!!

So I'm going to go over the details of how you play along with this challenge. It's easy, and really fun! I love stretching my creative "muscles" and challenging myself! For each sketch, we provide a song that goes with it. You have to use the lyrics in your title and make a layout based on the sketch! It leaves it way open for interpretation! I love that kind of challenge!!

Sooooo, without further Adieu, here's the sketch:
And the song is:
                                                                                                          THAT'S AMORE

                                          DEAN MARTIN
(In Napoli where love is king
When boy meets girl here's what they say)

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie
That's amore
When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine
That's amore
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling
And you'll sing "Vita bella"
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay
Like a gay tarantella

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool
That's amore
When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet
You're in love
When you walk in a dream but you know you're not
Dreaming signore
Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli
That's amore

(When the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pie
That's amore
When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine
That's amore
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling
And you'll sing "Vita bella"

Lucky Fella

That's amore,(amore)
That's amore
And here's the layout I made with the sketch and these lyrics:

I didn't want to make a typical layout with these lyrics and use the title or something about love. I saw the lyrics "Lucky Fella" and it made me think of this picture I took of my 3 year old Kieran this summer. We had bought him a fun dip candy thing that has the three different kinds of sugar and the sugar stick that you lick and dip in the other sugar and he was didn't want to wait to get all the sugar so he just poured it right into his mouth!! Sadly more than half of it ended up on his sweater instead!!

I really hope you play along with us! Go check out the Scrap & Music blog to see the rest of the Amazing Design Team's work and to get all the details of the challenge!!

Rockin the Cloth

Happy Thanksgiving to all my crafty American Peeps!! I hope you're having a fabulous day eating turkey and being grateful!

I wanted to share a layout with you I made a while ago when I was playing along with a layout tag at Scrapbook Nerd. Have you ever played layout tag? It's so fun! It starts off with the first person finding an inspiration layout. They email you that layout, and you have 2 days to make your own using the first one for inspiration. Then you send yours off and the next person uses yours for inspiration and so on and so on. Then when everyone else has made their layouts, we post all the layouts in a thread. It's really fun to see how different the layouts usually are from the first one and to see how people were inspired by different things in the layout!

I just love this picture of Linden in his tiny cloth diaper!! He looks so cute! I haven't done cloth diapers for any of my other boys, but I have been brought over to the dark side with Linden and I honestly wish I would have used them for every boy! They're really not much harder (one extra load of laundry every other day) and that's about it! I just love all the cute patterns they have! They make for extra fun embellishment matching on layouts!! lol

Have a great weekend!

Christmas Jammies

Hey bloggers!
I'm up at Scrapbook Nerd with Day 4 of  the 12 Days of Christmas. We've got a ton of inspiration going on there, so go check it out! And while you're at it, do some shopping too! They've got an amazing selection of scrappy goodies and they ship super fast too!!

These pictures are from 4 Christmases ago already! Time does go by so fast! I can't believe this little man in the picture is going to be 8 in December!!

I wanted to document our tradition of Christmas Jammies! I never had this tradition growing up. It came from my husband's family, but I love it! Every year my Mother in Law either makes or buys everyone a new pair of jammies to open on Christmas Eve so we can wear them to bed and wake up Christmas morning with new jammies! I love it and the boys do too!

I played along with Stuck?! Skectches for this layout. They're teaming up with Scrap Our Stash to combine the sketch with a challenge to use wood on your layout! I used a wood grain stamp, a wood banner and some wood veneer stars!
Here's the sketch. I really had fun with this one :)

I also wanted to join the ladies over at Frosted Designs for their "11 item challenge". I used Tags, Paper Layering, Washi tape, a banner, circles, stars, and arrows! 8 out of 11! Not too shabby!! lol

Well I'm done as far as my part in the 12 Days of December goes, but please go check out Scrapbook Nerd and see what other fabulous creations they have in store for the next 8 days!

Blessings

Day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas

Good Morning everyone!
I'm up today at Scrapbook Nerd  for our 12 Days of Christmas!!

I managed to get 9 pages including the cover of my album done at a crop I went to a few weeks ago, and I remember feeling like I was very ahead of the game! I usually don't get my December Daily album done until January! My normal process for this is to take at least one picture every day and make sure I journal every day too. Then in January when everything has settled down, I put my album together.

This year I'm more ahead than I have been in previous years, but I can't believe how fast November is going and I just realized this morning that I only have 9 more days until December 1st!! Yikes!! The good thing about these pages is that they really don't take too long to do! I hope to get the rest of my pages finished in the next couple nights. I just have to clean up my scrap table first!

I found this photo a day prompt for December on Pinterest and I'm using this for the basis of my album this year. I thought it would be fun to change it up!

This the cover of my album. This year I used the red SN@P album and I have to say I'm really liking it!!  I'm using the Simple Stories, Studio Calico and Heidi Swapp Christmas lines for my album this year. As I'm writing this I'm looking at the "Merry & Bright" and I'm thinking that I need to put the year underneath it.

I'm using the Tim Holtz Sizzix numbers on most of my pages...

I bought these snowflakes last year and I'm excited to be finally using them!

I really love that house die cut (Sizzix). I think I might actually add some glitter to the roofs to make snow :)

I made this fun envelope from that neat little envelope maker by We R Memory Keepers. I don't have one, but my friend Carla let me use it and once we figured it out (It helps to read ALL of the instructions!!), it worked really good!!

I was happy to dig into my stash and pull apart a clear plastic scallopy circle mini album to use on this page! Gotta love it when that stash gets used up! These days I'm buying faster than I'm using, so I've gotta get going on the using part!! lol

I really love these pocket pages that come with the SN@P album! They make these pages come together so quickly and they look great!! I love that Simple Stories makes their papers to coordinate too!

I cut that fun ornament with another Tim Holtz (Sizzix) die out of grunge board and covered it with paper. Gotta love those steel rule dies for being able to cut through a big hunk of stuff all at once! For the 8 on this page I used my epiphany crafts circle thingy (so technical I know!) and made my own little 8 flair!

This page is one of the tab pages that comes in the album. I covered it with mod podge and Tim Holtz tissue wrap before I added the other layers. That washi tape has made an appearance on a couple of pages in this album. I really love it! It's a good thing too, because when I ordered it, I accidentally ordered 2 of them! lol

Well that's all I have so far, but check back soon for the rest of it! I'm determined to get it finished before December 1st!!

Check back tomorrow for Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas!!

Blessings

fall ferry

Hey Hey Bloggers! I wanted to share a layout I made while playing along with Life.Paper.Scrapbook's
November Colour Challenge. You can head over to their blog for the challenge details.
These pictures were taken last November before I knew I was pregnant...about 30lbs ago! *sigh* I'm currently working on getting that and then some back off ;) all in due time!!

Anyway, Chris and I went on a very quick trip to the Island to help a friend move her stuff over there. I haven't been on a ferry since I was 5 years old, and my mom took the kids for the weekend, so it was really fun for Chris and I to relax and spend some time together as a couple!

I am currently blogging this with one hand while holding and nursing Linden with my other hand, so it's going to be a very short but sweet post today!! LOL I know, I'm pretty talented!! ;)

Thanks a lot for stopping by!!

Blessings,

Sarah

Last up for Halloween

This has been kickin around my desk for a week or so at least and I've been trying to finish it up, but I have to admit that after Halloween is over (no matter how much I love it), I am not into scrapping it anymore! But I started it, so I wanted to finish it! So slowly but surely I got it done!

These pictures are now 9 years old, because we have just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this Halloween! Yes that's right, we got married on Halloween! We had a traditional wedding ceremony, then a costume reception. It was sooo much fun!

I'm pretty happy with the way my title worked out because I went to use the white letters and I was missing an "r", so I cut the top off a "j" and turned it upside down, and voila! For the word "nuptuals" I realized I was out of "a's" but I found that if you turn a small "g" upside down it looks like an "a" too! Woohoo! Gotta love using up old letters! :)

Believe it or not, I was inspired by this sketch from the Paper Bakery

I started off with this in mind but ended up going a completely different way with it! Well at least there's two pictures and the title is in the same place as the sketch!! LOL

Well I'm off to pick up my oldest from a birthday party!
Have a great rest of the weekend!!
Blessings,

Sarah

*heart* this day

I thought I would share a layout today that I made quite some time ago, but realized it never made it to the blog! My husband took this picture of me when we went on our weekend with no kids this summer just before Linden was born. We camped in a small cabin on Timothy Lake and relaxed and went fishing and I caught my first fish! I haaate touching fish! But I really wanted to get a picture of this! So I sucked it up and stuck my finger in the fish's mouth and got the picture! lol

Just a quick post today, but stay tuned, because I have a surprise to tell you soon!!

PS: Anyone doing Elf on the Shelf with your kids this year for Christmas? I just bought one and I'm so excited to start!! Let me know what you're ideas are if you have any!

Hello May? A little behind!

Hellooo Bloggers! I just wanted to stop in and share a layout I made quite a while ago actually! I made this using a whole bunch of goodies that Scrapbook Nerd sent me! When I saw the pocket pages in this kit, I knew I wanted to do my own take on Project Life for this layout. Instead of it being a weekly layout, I made it for the month. The hardest thing about this layout was trying to narrow down the pictures! Apparently we did quite a bit of fun stuff in May!

These pocket pages are so fun and they really make a layout come together super quick! I really love that because I have way more pictures than time! lol

Well, that's it for today! I have to go put in a load of laundry and go do some errands in town.

Blessings!
